This is not a pen, but it will look really good as a pen backdrop. 😉
Seventy Eight Percent’s Emile arrived in the mail today. Seventy Eight Percent, a carry brand based in Hong Kong, has its own wabi-sabi philosophy.
“78%Â is a design manifesto that encourages designers to embed flaws in their designs, thereby creating imperfect products.”
Emile is a small leather folder with a strap down its center. In theory, any piece of paper can be tucked behind the strap, kind of like a DIY, upcycled notebook. The slot in front is a mystery to me.

It is slightly larger than a Midori Passport.

There is an inside front flap, and helpful, earnest instructions supplied on a folded sheet of paper. The 78% logo punctuates the flap.

We could all use “a small product for big ideas!”

The inside back also has a flap. This is perfect for inveterate tuckers-in like me.

This leather is called “Wood.” Other colors available are Cobalt, Chocolate, Fossil and Pewter.

How can you not like a brand that prefers to stay on the side and let its product speak for itself?
Emile and I will hang out for a few weeks, then we’ll report back in.
(It took only three days from the time I ordered to the package landing on my desk. I chose a more expensive shipping option and am glad I did.)
