If you're looking for a charming starter vintage pen, this could just be it. This Good Service lever filler was kindly donated by Ian of Cathedral Pens. Here's his write-up:

Boxed. Good Service was a house brand made for Sears Roebuck. The pen is a lever filler and is in  very good condition with crisp chasing and imprint. There is a personalisation engraved on the cap. The 14ct. nib is probably a replacement as it is a Welty rather than the usual warranted. The nib is fine and  stiff. The box is in reasonable condition.

There's a lot of information on this Fountain Pen Network thread if you're curious about Good Service pens. Who knows, this might be the start of your collection! 🙂

The pen will ship from the UK, and secret goodies will come from Manila!

Please bid generously! I want to encourage you to bid by setting the starting price low. The entire amount of the winning bid will go to the Philippine Red Cross for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.  Shipping and handling costs are c/o us, and Paypal fees as well. As the auctions close and donations are sent, I will post a screengrab of the PayPal receipt as a public record.

(Please note: I am not a professional seller, this is the first time I am using this Wordpress auction plugin, I've tested it and so far it works. But if you have any concerns at all, email me stat: leighpod at good ol' gmail.)

Payment Details

Winner will receive PayPal payment link via email.

I’ve been using a personal PayPal account to handle the donations and PayPal has just sent me an email asking if I’m a nonprofit. 🙂 We’ll need to adjust the payment mechanics while I’m resolving this with them. Winning bidders will need to send the payment to the Red Cross ( directly, then email me their PayPal receipt. Because they’re a registered non-profit, there are no PayPal fees. Just select “Supertyphoon YOLANDA (Haiyan),” then type the equivalent amount in pesos, then choose “PayPal” as method of payment. Thank you for understanding!
