The ink is always greener.

It’s the color of zombie skin, go, absinthe, envy, Vulcan blood, spring.

Green ink can range from bright to moody.

J. Herbin Vert Olive does look like extra virgin olive oil. Rohrer & Klinger’s Alt-Goldgrün is a spring green with a touch of decay. From the Sailor 2010 limited edition line is Waka-uguisu, a true spring green. De Atramentis’ Green Tea is desaturated and mellow. Noodler’s Army Green is very camouflage-y. (I don’t like the new one.) Epinard is yummier than spinach. Tokiwa Mat Green broods.

In watercolor, there’s granulation – how pigment particles in a wash add texture and mood. If any fountain pen ink could “granulate,” it would be this one.

I like greens that are green without being too, well, green.

If you could only have one green ink, which one would you choose?
