time.
I find myself drifting into shoe
shops with unfocused eyes and a very loose grip on my
wallet.
Yesterday, I went to Shangri-la
Mall to have my prescription checked at the optical shop on the second floor.
Right beside the shop was a big SALE streamer for CMG. Powerless to resist, I
went inside and tried on several pairs. I left with a pair of cloth-covered
wedges with ankle ties. I have no idea what to wear with them.
I find the most gorgeous shoes online.
None of the merchants ship here, which is a good thing I guess. My epitaph
doesn’t have to say “Beloved mother to Lucien and 1,259 way-too-expensive pairs
of shoes.”
From jamesandjames.com and
cydwoq.com:
Today, it was back to the same
mall to exchange a pair of Luc shoes. The pair I’d gotten had “tutuut” on the
front and “vroom” on the side. I’d gotten the large size, and needed to size up
to XL.I didn’t return the bright yellow and black sandals stamped with the word
“hurricane” anymore. They just fit. So he can probably wear them for the next
couple of weeks max, just like the bumblebee
booties.
Only 5 months old and already he
has a shoe collection. That’s my son, all right.
