Pens for Aid: 50th Anniversary Pilot Capless in Maple from Cult Pens.

I really, really liked the Pilot Capless in Maple when I first held it. There is something about the smoothness and warmth of this wood that makes an already elegant design even more so. This is the 50th anniversary of the Capless (also known as the Vanishing Point). Not too many pens out there can boast of practically the same design and technology still being produced and appreciated after 50 years.

The good people at Cult Pens volunteered this pen to help the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. They saw my tweet and emailed me not long after. Thank you for reaching out. This limited edition Pilot Capless  is no. 615 out of only 900 produced, and its website price is £495. It comes in a wooden presentation box. The winner will be able to choose a fine, medium, or broad nib. Cult Pens will take care of shipping from the UK, bless them. And they've promised to send along a few goodies as well. (My goodies will be shipped to the winner from Manila, so you will get two packages!)

The generosity of the pen community is a source of joy in these sad times. I see the news that help is finally getting farther in, and feel more hopeful. The Red Cross is tireless and have already gone beyond Tacloban to the other areas which were also badly hit. The more funds we can get to them, the more they can help.
