I laugh at work-life balance. I laugh at balance in general, a life doled out in equal proportions and symmetry. Give me the roller coaster, the bumps and troughs, because the flatline will come for us all soon enough. Obsession and passion require a beautiful, terrible imbalance.
However. A little Balance, in pen form, is perfectly fine.
The material is pearlescent green with black. The Sheaffer white dot on the cap is crisp.
The pen is the smallest Balance I’ve seen, and one of the few pens I own that I need to post to use.
So what’s a girl like me doing with a Balance like this?
Tom found this pen for me. It has a really flexible nib, a rare find in Sheaffer Balances.
The generous flex of the nib is all out of proportion to the pen’s pocket-sized body.
The feed can just about keep up with the flow a calligraphic hand requires. Whew.
Do not go balanced into that good night. With a few exceptions.
