I was in Boracay, voted one of the world’s best beach destinations, for eight days.
I worked on my tan. I worked as a judge in the Kidlat Awards. And I worked on my quick-draw watercolor skills.
I brought my Schminke box, waterbrushes, a dropper bottle, and a Daycraft sketch notebook. I kept painting women in bikinis. This is Gabie, watercolor directly applied on paper without pencil guides. (I am not good at it.)
And this is a pregnant lady whose bikini I really liked. (Not that you can see much of it .)
Darks here are Platinum pigment ink in Sepia, diluted with water.
On to the Kidlat Awards. Ompong liked how this quick sketch of her on the phone turned out.
Finally, men appear in my sketchbook. Here are  Thirasak, AJ, and Tonypet being very serious about something.
AJ is an amazing designer and this was what he doodled using a Pilot Parallel pen I’d brought along.
(“Puke” came from Tin, I think.)
I can’t imagine going anywhere now without my waterbrushes. There is still something to be said for memories entering your eyes and flowing from your hands, even in this pixelated age.
