My first Apple lemon.

It’s back with Senco, our accredited supplier of
all things Mac.

I brought it (and the PowerBook G4,
which needed a letter N and a command key – at 200 pesos each) to their office
this morning, thinking I would get it back within the day, possibly with one of
the RAM chips replaced or tightened in place, or something. That didn’t happen.
They called in the afternoon to tell our IT person that the unit itself was
defective and that they would replace
it.

Their new shipment of MacBook Pros
arrives tonight. One of those will not be a lemon, I hope, and will find its way
to me, and will not inflict any more spinning beachballs of death on my (now
shaken) unquestioning trust in Macaronia.
