I am so
disgusted by all of this. I can’t even work. It feels like we’re in an abyss of
futility, and no one can dig fast enough to mire us deeper in it. What do I tell
Lucien? That in this country, if you don’t win, you were definitely cheated?
That right and wrong don’t matter, only what’s convenient for the powerful? And
what of us – people who work, pay taxes, try to live normal lives, try not to
complain so much – where do we go?
