Channel NewsAsia had a quick feature on a dream
machine that will go on the market in March. It will retail for US $140, and
looks like a plastic iMac knockoff crossed with a Tupperware food keeper. You
place a picture of the person or thing you want to dream about on the screen,
pour a few drops of aromatherapy oil into the built-in burner, and record a
message to yourself, something like, “I would like to go on a date with Mr.
Goto.” You are then supposed to sleep, and as you sleep, the machine will play
soft music, squirt scent into the air, and replay your recorded message at timed
intervals (when you are meant to be dreaming).

I am not kidding.
