It was great reading the story of the Sheaffer Compact on Penhero. Who knew so much detective work went into identifying this pen properly? Thank you to Ian of Cathedral Pens for generously donating this to Pens for Aid.

The Sheaffer Compact II cartridge fountain pen comes boxed with paperwork. The visulated barrel and shorter clip indicate it is an early production pen from 1960. It has a 14k gold inlaid medium nib, and is considered a Sheaffer "Lifetime" pen. I think it's really cute and will make a Sheaffer fan out there (or any fan of vintage pens) happy.

The pen will ship from the UK, and secret goodies will come from Manila!

Please bid generously! I want to encourage you to bid by setting the starting price low. The entire amount of the winning bid will go to the Philippine Red Cross for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.  Shipping and handling costs are c/o us, and Paypal fees as well. As the auctions close and donations are sent, I will post a screengrab of the PayPal receipt as a public record.

(Please note: I am not a professional seller, this is the first time I am using this Wordpress auction plugin, I've tested it and so far it works. But if you have any concerns at all, email me stat: leighpod at good ol' gmail.)

Payment Details

Winner will receive PayPal payment link via email.

Important:
I’ve been using a personal PayPal account to handle the donations and PayPal has just sent me an email asking if I’m a nonprofit. 🙂 We’ll need to adjust the payment mechanics while I’m resolving this with them. Winning bidders will need to send the payment to the Red Cross (ushare.redcross.org.ph) directly, then email me their PayPal receipt. Because they’re a registered non-profit, there are no PayPal fees. Just select “Supertyphoon YOLANDA (Haiyan),” then type the equivalent amount in pesos, then choose “PayPal” as method of payment. Thank you for understanding!
