For some reason, today was old-pen-is-that-you day. I found an italic nib from an old Parker calligraphy set, and decided to go to National Bookstore in Greenbelt over lunch to buy a Vector to fit it in. I also dug up and cleaned 4 Pilot Parallel Pens. And, in what was a hunch that proved true, I fitted a Pilot student calligraphy nib into the Prera and it fit perfectly. Now I have a Prera sporting a BB italic nib.
I found an Osmiroid calligraphy set, too. I remember using this in 1995 during my stint in Jakarta. I wrote actual letters with it, because back then not everyone had email.
The Prera is my happiest nib switch of the week. (Okay, it’s only Tuesday.) It makes what is otherwise a workhorse into a horse that does pretty tricks.
I believe the Pilot calligraphy set is also marketed as the Pilot Plumix in other countries. I’m missing the body and cap and one nib of mine (it’s sold with M, B and BB nibs), so this is a recycling feat.
